Will the Truth Come Out?

"[...] unite, by way of common interest and by way of lasting bond, men from all parts of the globe, from all social classes and from all religions, despite the diversity of their opinions and passions - to make them love this common interest and bond to the point where, together or alone, they act as one individual"

does this really sound so bad?

The Top of the Food Chain ???

while i am not trying to belittle or minimize the horrific events of this past week, this is another example that underscores the theory that man was not supposed to be the "top of the food chain"...

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (Reuters) -- Wild animals seem to have escaped the Indian Ocean tsunami, adding weight to notions they possess a "sixth sense" for disasters, experts said on Thursday.

Sri Lankan wildlife officials have said the giant waves that killed over 24,000 people along the Indian Ocean island's coast seemingly missed wild beasts, with no dead animals found.
"No elephants are dead, not even a dead hare or rabbit. I think animals can sense disaster. They have a sixth sense.
They know when things are happening," H.D. Ratnayake, deputy director of Sri Lanka's Wildlife Department, said on Wednesday.

even the "lesser beasts" knew to take to higher ground, while the "superior species" stood idly proclaiming "Dude, Surf's Up!!".

the tragic part of it was that it was all our own doing. not that we were aware of the great danger that was building up, but we were too pre-occupied with our immediate gains to pay heed to the warnings, or even to pass the warnings along.
This has to be the "coolest" thing since pre-formatted css.....

Convenience is about to take on new meaning in the coffee aisle: single-serving coffee in a can that heats itself.

Chef Wolfgang Puck says the self-heating container 'will expand the way people drink coffee.'

Beginning Jan. 2, consumers can buy a 10-ounce container of Wolfgang Puck gourmet latte at the store and heat it by pressing a button. No electricity. No batteries. No appliances.
"It will expand the way people drink coffee," says Puck, the celebrity chef with a growing empire.

How does the can do it? A single step mixes calcium oxide (quicklime) and water. It heats the coffee to 145 degrees in six minutes — and stays hot for 30 minutes.

It sounds like a technology used by soldiers to heat Meals-Ready-To-Eat. But MREs mix magnesium iron oxide and water and need several steps. This is one-step and self-contained.
Puck's latte hits stores at a point consumers are willing to pay a premium for quality products that save time.

Puck — owner of Los Angeles eateries Spago and Chinois — knows trends. He's licensed his name to WP Beverage Partners, a beverage firm. WP has linked up with OnTech, a technology specialist, that designed the heating process.

what will we think of next...now if can just get my hands on that self broiling rib eye steak i'd be happy!
